The question for me is do we seperate the player from the man? Most say yes but we still here criticisms of Maradona for his off the field antics as we do today with Ronaldo and the Messi v Ronaldo debate. Is a football player more than what he does on the pitch?
If you look at Gazza, Cantona,Di Canio, Maradona etc if they were not that type of person i doubt they would such a good player
